Unless you’ve never had sugary junk food in your life, there will be times you CRAVE and want to CAVE. I realize that knowing everyone else struggles with the same issue doesn’t make it go away but it does at least let you know that you are not alone! So how do we face this craving battle and come out on the winning side?
#1 SLEEP! I cannot stress the importance of sleep enough. NOT getting enough sleep is a sure fire way to crave and cave. But if you DO sleep enough you’re more apt to have the willpower to resist. Lack of sleep causes an overproduction of cortisol, this will cause hunger—FOR SUGAR! Being sleep deprived will also send less glucose to the front of your brain (impulse control center), meaning you will have less control over your sugar cravings.
#2 EAT FATS! Not just any ole fat but healthy fats! When you first start to cut out junky foods (starch and sugar) you have to remember to replace them w/ good stuff. Good fats (coconut oil, avocado, etc) will help to fill that void and leave you satisfied.
#3 EAT ENOUGH! Sometimes when starting a new food lifestyle (I hate to use the word diet; most people refer to diet and a moment of calorie restrictions rather than meaning what they eat as a whole) we tend to undereat. This is NOT what we want to do!
#4 DRINK WATER! Don’t forget to hydrate. A lot of times when we need more fluids our bodies will signal us with hunger rather than thirst. If I feel hungry between eating times I always reach for some water FIRST and it does indeed curb that pang…but then there are times I have to reach for an apple 🙂
Brownies, pizza and shakes OH MY!

SNACK – Cocoprotein/FP
30 minutes before lunch take your last MNS/Yellow packet
LUNCH: Orange Creamsicle Shake/E (Pg 409 Cookbook)
30 minutes before snack take Catalyst/3 and spark if needed (or uh wanted) 😉
SNACK: Double Peanut Fudge Swirl Brownies/S (Pg 315 Cookbook)
DINNER: Perfect Pizza/S (Pg 211 Cookbook) w/ chicken, spinach, basil and mozzarella
This brain child decided since I go through the almond milk so fast that I’d make a double batch this time so I soaked 2 cups of almonds over night. But the real smart part was knowing that the capacity of my Vitamix is 8 cups—-so you do the math 8 cups of water + 2 cups of almonds = HUGE MESS All was well and good with the lid on but once I took the lid off UGGGGG milk everywhere!!! But hey, at least I’ll get some almond flour out of it HaHa WRONG! I didn’t have time to “dry” the pulp because I needed the oven so I thought ok, I’ll turn it into almond butter—oh huh uh…the roasted pieces didn’t blend well as almond butter, it even had a completely different taste OH WELL!
Breakfast Sammie sandwiches were soooo good! Lil’ bit fixed the eggs and she put diced ham in the mix, I was gonna cook up some bacon for them and add lettuce and tomato but it was very tasty all the same! I added Italian seasoning to the Swiss bread/muffins AFTER THE FACT so it was all settled on top but I can’t care it was so yummy! I was so busy w/ the almond milk mishap that snack snuck up on me so I threw back a cocoprotein (which y’all know I don’t mind, I’m gonna cry when they run out) then I was still in the kitchen come lunch time and didn’t get to my creamless creamy chicken plan (plus I ate all the cabbage haha) so whooped up an Orange Creamsicle shake. I mean com’mon, who doesn’t love a shake that tastes like ice cream? Only thing I would do differently is add more Wild Orange drops next time :p
I did make my lil’ the lady some Easy Chocolate Milk (Pg 439 Cookbook) today which she loved and then after briefly playing in the snow asked for some hot chocolate and couldn’t find the recipe I usually use so I just used the same EZ choco milk but fixed it in a pot on the stove. She said, “This taste just like the regular chocolate milk, only hot, but it is the best ever!” 🙂
If this is your first time making homemade BETTER FOR YOU pizza may I suggest you do the FOOLED YA PIZZA (Pg 276 Original or Pinterest)! Though I liked this “perfect pizza” it wasn’t nearly as tasty as the “fooled ya” one and in my opinion it’s a healthier pizza version (y)
I would call today a S-U-C-C-E-S-S!

Very few people enjoy being told that what they’re eating is ‘bad’ (despite how true it seriously is). It’s totally normal to be super duper excited with cheerleader-like enthusiasm when you realize how incredible eating clean makes you feel….but in my experience, people (i.e. family, friends, co-workers, random strangers in the grocery store, etc.) are waaaaay more receptive if you don’t criticize their feeding behaviors, and simply lead by example. I haven’t always done the best with the concept of being the example but I do try and knowing that I have to share with you what I’m having holds me somewhat accountable
You are almost done with your ALL-IN 24DC and I know you’re being a fantastic example with what you’re having because I’m getting text messages almost daily with magnificent success stories and I can’t tell you how wonderful that makes me feel!!! Day 21 / February 1
With your morning Spark you will take your 1st packet on the MNS sleeve, marked “30 minutes before breakfast” and if you’re using Catalyst/3 and ThermoPlus/1 you’ll take these now.
BREAKFAST – MRS or Mama’s Breakfast Casserole/S (take both “with meal” MNS/White packets)
SNACK – Choc Skinny Chip Muffin/S (Pg 279 Cookbook)
30 minutes before lunch take your last MNS/Yellow packet
LUNCH: Salad/E with grilled chicken (used juice of a lemon for dressing w/ ½ tsp of olive oil)
30 minutes before snack take Catalyst/3 and spark if needed 😉
SNACK: Peanut junkie butter over banana w/ Handy dandy chocolate sauce/E
I woke up with a pounding headache at 3:30am this morning but I know why—-I feel lots of sinus pressure and congestion so I took care of that right away by using a blend of lemon, lavender and peppermint! So once lil’ bit got up she announced, “I’m fixing breakfast!!! Whatever it is.” and she did too! I already had the meal planned so all she had to do was following instructions (and yes I do help her measure even though she’s pretty good and determining which measuring utensil to use on her own). Mama’s breakfast casserole was a wonderful hit!! And the best part is, my lil’ learned how to make flax flour by using the coffee grinder and there were no burn incidents…well until I sat the pan down and somehow managed to get my thumb between the pan and pot holder but there’s lavendar for that (y)
Today’s festivities included watching my hubby do donuts in the snow with the Polaris—and my little sitting beside him (WHAT??), he’s the most protective parent I’ve ever met and I couldn’t believe what I was seeing lol~ I felt like I was on my feet ALL day but the only thing I did was put wash dishes, put away dishes, laundry, made oat flour, Ketchup/FP (Pg 411 Original—different recipe than what I usually use), Slim Belly Jelly/FP (Pg 411 Original), lunch, snacks, slim belly vinaigrette (Pg 474 Cookbook), tahini dressing, and body burn mayonnaise (Pg 470 Cookbook). HaHaHa so I guess maybe I was a lil’ busy! I didn’t even find time to catch up on postings or at least one of the three classes I’m behind in (yikes).
**OOPS—ketchup didn’t make the photo heehee
I’m not sure how I got so far off track today other than just being busy but I didn’t have lunch until almost 4 so rather than having a dinner meal there were some awesome snacks/shakes to be had—-i mean Peanut Junkie Butter (Pg 481 Cookbook) w/ banana?? How can anyone pass that up? The PJB and chocolate sauce are both FP but the small banana puts you into E territory. This is NOT a snack I suggest you have too late in the evening as I seriously was WIDE awake and even a warm bath didn’t prepare me for sleep and the snack is the only thing I could pinpoint would’ve been my issue.
