New Year New You AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge / Cleanse Day 8

on January 14, 2015

Oh my stars are you kidding me? I’m on Day 10 and I haven’t posted since Day 7? WHAT’DA WORLD??….

Since I just realized I’m 3 days behind this will simply be just a “cut & paste” from my Facebook page :/

Day 8 / Cleanse
Spark + Fiber + Probiotics (+Catalyst opt)
W/n an hour eat breakfast

BREAKFAST: Banana Oat Breakfast Cake (this is NOT enough protein so just have a toast size slice and add 2 scrambled eggs!)
SNACK: Rice crackers w/ 4 oz tuna and grapes
LUNCH: Thai Chicken Salad
SNACK: PB Shake
DINNER: (4 Omega) Crockpot Turkey Chili

BANANA OAT BREAKFAST CAKE:
1 egg (for egg free use 1 tbsp ground flax seed + 3 tbsp water)
5 medium sized bananas, mashed (1 3/4 cup mashed bananas)
1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
1/3 cup coconut sugar (or brown sugar)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp sea salt
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 cup oats
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup white whole wheat or spelt flour (I use a GF blend)

Instructions
Preheat oven to 360F or 180C. Lightly oil a standard square baking or loaf pan with coconut oil or non-stick spray.

*IF using flax egg: In a small bowl, stir together flax seed and water. Set aside to thicken while mixing together other ingredients. This is your flax ‘egg’.
In a large size bowl, mash bananas. Add the maple syrup/honey, melted coconut oil, cane sugar, vanilla extract, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, sea salt and baking powder to the banana mixture.
Give the thickened flax egg an extra stir if it is not fully combined with water. Add to the wet ingredients. Whisk together with a hand or electric mixture until the ingredients are well combined.
Add the quick cooking oats to the wet ingredients. Stir together. Add flour and baking soda to the banana bread batter. Combine the baking soda and flour together on top of the banana bread batter before folding it into the batter. With a spatula, fold the flour and baking soda into the banana bread batter until fully combined. Leave to thicken for a minute before adding it to the loaf pan.
Add banana bread batter into the oiled loaf pan. Smooth out the top of the batter with the back of a cold spoon.
Bake for 35 – 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clear.
Leave to cool down in pan & voila your Banana & Oat Breakfast cake is ready to be devoured and enjoyed!

THAI CHICKEN SALAD:
Cooked chicken breast
Mixed salad greens
Peanut Sauce (found in the regular grocery store in the Asian aisle)
Lime juice
Sliced almonds
I cook chicken ahead of time. I usually mix a tablespoon of the peanut sauce with a tiny bit of low fat peanut butter because the sauce is kinda spicy and I want to mellow it out. Add a squeeze of lime and toss in the salad and chicken, topping with some sliced almonds for crunch.

PB SHAKE:
1 cup almond milk
2 Tbsp peanut flour (or 1 Tbsp natural peanut butter)
Splash of vanilla
Approx 1 Tbsp honey/maple syrup
1/2 cup ice

CLEAN CROCKPOT TURKEY CHILI:
1.25 lb extra lean ground turkey
1 jar of salsa (16oz homemade)
1 cup of celery, chopped
1 small white onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
1 28oz can crushed tomatoes
1 28oz can diced tomatoes
2 cups soaked pinto beans
2 cups soaked red kidney beans
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp salt
2 tbsp chili powder
1 tbsp cumin
Place meat and chopped onion into a large pan. Cook until turkey is no longer pink and onion is translucent.
Place meat and onion mixture into a crockpot along with the other ingredients. Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours.

NO MORE HERBAL CLEANSE PILLS! (IF you forgot to take some previously and still have these, TAKE them!)

Can you feel a difference in your clothing? Are you excited your almost done w/ the cleanse? Though dairy free is not a part of the restriction during the Max Phase of the challenge, if you’re doing good w/o it and don’t miss it too bad, here’s a thought…don’t add it back in! SAME W/ SUGAR~ You’ve done soooo good thus far, let’s see you rock it out for the entire 24 days. Remember, the more you put in the more you get out 😉 (HaHaHa I just realized because I use emoticons on my FB page, when I simply cut/paste, they don’t show up on here, it actually typed out the words “wink emoticon”….hmmm wonder how many times that’s happened and I haven’t noticed it)
